Insta360 GO

The Insta360 GO is the smallest stabilized camera in the world, making it perfect for capturing life’s highlights on the go. FlowState stabilization ensures smooth footage no matter how you move, while Hyperlapse lets you create really, really fast time-lapses from any angle. Slow Motion mode lets you capture every detail of your action shots, and Auto Editing automatically puts together your best clips into a shareable video. With 200 videos per charge, the Insta360 GO is your always-ready sidekick for capturing life’s most memorable moments.

Both cameras have a small, oblong lens and are pill-shaped. The GO 2 has a different lens design and a cover. The cover can be removed and replaced with ND filters, which are available separately.

While the original GO case can be used as a portable charger, it cannot do much else. You will also need to have a wired connection in order to transfer files from the camera while it is inside the case. The GO 2 case, which is wireless and can also be used as a remote control for your camera or tripod, is more advanced.

Image Quality

The upgrade from 1080p video to 1440p resolution might not seem like much. Don’t underestimate the image quality improvements with Insta360 Go 2 vs GO.

The new sensor is the key to GO 2’s improved image quality. The 1/2.3″ sensor in GO 2 is the standard for flagship action cameras, allowing it to capture sharper, clearer, and more detailed ultra-wide shots. GO 2 has the same high-performance hardware and features as flagship action cameras but in a smaller size.

GO 2 has a brand new sensor and an HDR video mode. It also features a vibrant color profile. These improvements help to deliver sharp shots right out of the camera.

The Insta360 GO comes with a few essential accessories to help you get started. These include

  • Magnet Pendant: The magnet pendant is a key accessory for the Insta360 GO. It allows you to easily attach and detach the camera from the pendant. This is especially helpful when you want to quickly take photos or videos.
  • Easy Clip: It allows you to attach the camera to almost any object. This is helpful when you want to take photos or videos of yourself or your surroundings.
  • Pivot Stand: The pivot stand is another key accessory for the Insta360 GO. It allows you to easily attach and detach the camera from the stand. This is helpful when you want to quickly take photos or videos.
  • Pet Strap Mount: It allows you to attach the camera to your pet’s collar. This is helpful when you want to take photos or videos of your pet.
  • ND Filter Set: It allows you to adjust the amount of light that enters the camera. This is helpful when you want to take photos or videos in bright environments.

Other Differences

Water Resistance: The original GO was water-resistant but could not withstand prolonged immersions in water. The GO 2 is now fully waterproof to 4 meters. This is more than enough to swim in.

Battery Life: The original GO’s battery life was very short at 20 minutes per full charge. The case can be used to charge the battery, but it is only capable of recharging for an additional hour. If you add the additional charge to the case, the GO 2’s boosted battery can last for around 3 hours.

The Insta360 GO 2 has a lot of improvements and is definitely worth the upgrade. However, if you already own an Insta360 GO: do not feel like you need to go out and buy another one just for these new bells and whistles. The improvements are definitely noticeable, but not so drastic that if you already have the Insta360 GO and it’s working for you- there is no pressing need to upgrade.
